Louis Coomans

With more than 30 years of international experience across insurance, reinsurance, risk management and financial services, Louis Coomans brings extensive experience of both established and emerging markets to ALP Risk Services.

Louis spent more than 20 years with Marsh & McLennan Companies, progressing through senior finance and operational roles to become Managing Director of Marsh Europe. His responsibilities included operations across Eastern Europe and the development of INSIA, Marsh's European broker network focused on SMEs and retail clients, which he helped launch and expand across seven countries.

Over the course of his career, Louis has built and advised businesses across more than 50 countries. His experience spans insurance and reinsurance, risk management, finance, emerging markets and international business development, with a particular focus on connecting local market requirements with international expertise and capacity.

Today, Louis is Founder and Chairman of ALP Brokers SA in Switzerland, Senior Executive Officer of ALP Insurance Services DIFC Ltd in the UAE, and Director of ALP Risk Advisory Ltd in the UK. He also holds a number of international board and advisory positions.

His approach reflects the philosophy of ALP Risk Services: combining international standards and global market expertise with a strong understanding of local markets. The focus is on practical, technically sound solutions built around the specific risk environment and requirements of each client.
